In the 2024 election, Anthony Broadman, a Bend City Councilor, Tribal court judge, and legal counsel to Tribal governments, was overwhelmingly elected to represent Central Oregon in the Oregon State Senate. Broadman’s campaign, which raised $1.1 million and mobilized hundreds of volunteers, focused on advocating for working families and Central Oregon children. He received cross-party support, winning both house districts that make up Senate District 27.
Broadman emphasized unity, cooperation, and inclusivity across party lines in his campaign, which resonated with voters in Bend, Redmond, Sisters, and Deschutes County. His legislative priorities include efficient government, public safety, housing, and economic development. He stressed his commitment to representing all 140,326 constituents in the district, regardless of their political affiliation, and vowed to work towards a fair, affordable, and safe future for the community.
