Alissa, a citizen of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma, is recognized for her commitment to empowering Native communities in governance and the exercise of their sovereign rights. Alissa’s career has been diverse, spanning the coordination of federally funded academic neuroscience research at the University of Florida to design project management and user experience research at Fortune 500 companies. Passionate about leveraging technology, strategy, and research to foster positive change, Alissa is currently working to empower her Tribal Council through the use of AI. In addition, she was honored to support her tribe by managing her father’s successful campaign for Tribal Council Coordinator. She holds a bachelor’s in history from the University of Florida and a master’s in education from the University of Little Rock at Arkansas. Alissa brings to PWNA experience and innovation in research, operations, and strategy to help empower Native communities.
