Board Member
Elwood is a Tribal citizen of the Otoe-Missouria Nation and has nearly 20 years of experience working with Indian Country. He is well known as a keynote speaker on critical topics such as mental health, DEI, trauma-informed practices, and higher education. Currently serving as Director of Organizational Development for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), he is focused on grants management, capacity building, strategic planning, resource and community development, and training/event facilitation. Prior to BGCA, he increased capacity, impact, and partnerships for private, Tribal, and youth-serving organizations including collegiate and pro sports teams. An advocate for suicide prevention efforts and other youth initiatives, he organized the Isaiah Ott Born Ready Basketball Clinic attended by more than 200 youth from six states, highlighting the intersection of sports, mental health advocacy, and community impact. A graduate of Haskell Indian Nations University, he holds a bachelor’s in Native American studies. Besides a diverse skill set, he brings to PWNA an extensive network, a passion for community engagement, and a commitment to fostering positive change.
