Native Nonprofit Day 2025

  • Across the Southwest and Northern Plains, Native American families are struggling with challenges that threaten their well-being — from lack of access to fresh food, clean water, and safe housing to reliable transportation.

These are basic human needs. And yet, many Native communities remain overlooked and under-resourced.

  • Less than 1% of all charitable giving in the U.S. supports Native causes.

Here are just a few stark realities Native communities face:

  • 24% of American Indian/Alaska Native (AIAN) children live in poverty
  • 1 in 4 Native Americans experience food insecurity
  • 15% of the Navajo nation still do not have running water in their homes
  • 1 in 168 Native children lost a caregiver to COVID-19
  • AIAN have the highest rates of diabetes (1 in 5 Navajo have diabetes)
  • Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for AIAN between the ages of 10 and 34
  • There are 18,935 AIAN homeless people on any given night
  • 40% of Native Americans live in sub-standard, overcrowded housing
  • Native women are murdered at more than ten times the national average on some reservations.

Despite these disparities, Native communities remain largely invisible in conversations about poverty, equity, and justice.

That’s why Native Nonprofit Day matters.

Every gift made to our Native Nonprofit Day campaign directly benefits Native communities. With your support, we can expand access to food, clean water, education, emergency relief, and more.

Because when you give, you’re not just donating money. You’re showing up with compassion, love, and respect for Native families who are too often left behind.

Early giving is now open! You don’t have to wait to make an impact — give today and start changing lives. You have till May 22th, to make a gift!
